What is Capacitor?
Two electrically isolated conductors close to one another Conductors can be wires,PCB traces or even the human body Hand moving in close proximity of a conductor creates capacitance.
ALSRobot Digital Capacitive Touch Sensor is based on the principle of making capacitive sensing.
Human or metal contact touch sensor gilt surface will be sensed, In addition to direct touch with the metal surface, via a certain thickness of plastic, glass and other materials can also be sensed contact, Sensor sensitivity is related with the size of the contact surface and Thickness of the cover material.
How does it work?
The sensor plate and your body forms a capacitor. We know that a capacitor stores charge. The more its capacitance, the more charge it can store. The capacitance of this capacitive touch sensor depends on how close your hand is to the plate. Digital Capacitive Touch Sensor has two kinds of output mode, you can switch the mode by changing the soldering jumper.
